Quebec APC Report

APC has met with the Quebec Minister of the Environment, Mr. Thomas Mulcair, to discuss wood burning appliance regulation for 2006. The Minister told the board that the regulation is ready and that he is interested in working with APC to implement the new regulation. APC has proposed to the Minister guidelines on different approaches and the minister is actually studying the proposal. With the actual situation on the cost of fossil fuel, rising between 30-40 % for the upcoming winter, an increase in the cost of electricity will surely follow quickly. APC thinks that no politician will have the courage to step up, at this present time and talk about regulation; out of fear of the perception from the consumer on such an announcement...

APC's Annual Golf Tournament was held at La Bete in Mont Tremblant on August 14th. Over 100 members participated in a great afternoon of golf.

Poeles et Foyers magazine has been on newsstands since September 5th. APC prints 40,000 copies of the magazine and usually sells between 12,000 and 15,000 copies with balance given at home show and others attended show by APC annually.
