Atlantic Chapter Update

The Atlantic Chapter has been busy with a number of projects over the past few months. During the month of May we held a major Membership Drive in conjunction with our AGM and Training Day. Due to the success of this day-long event, organized and co-sponsored by HPBAC Atlantic Chapter, WETT NB and three of the Atlantic distributors – Compact Appliances, Kerr Controls and Powrmatic, it was hoped that we would get some attention – and as we found out we did. Nine new members is something to brag about in our small area. Thanks to all who helped make the day a great success.

The successful event, which featured Tom Pugh’s Fireplace Design Workshop, the WETT N.B. AGM and the HPBAC-AC AGM, as well as lunch, golf and a BBQ supper, was well received with over 130 people attending unfortunately the golf tournament was rained out but Texas Hold’em was the name of the game during the afternoon at the Sackville Golf Club! A total of $160 was raised for the local Food Bank.

A Fantastic BBQ supper was provided and I think everyone saw value in the day. The more members we can get and keep, will provide us with the opportunity to plan more days like this – a member benefit to us all.

Other items we are working on include:
Technical Sales Training Course slated for fall
Ongoing Membership Development
Home Builders Dinner Presentation done jointly with WETT-New Brunswick
Publishing a hearth magazine for the Atlantic Provinces with Saltscapes
